Taking it full time!

By
Real Estate Agent with GMAC Real Estate ServiceMax

The idea of being a full time agent was something that was originally set in the not so distant future.  I had been working full time as a retail manager which, by the way, I believe to be extremely beneficial to anyone considering a career in Real Estate.   But I had made the decision to get my license and work on building the skills and learning what I needed to know to get to a position where I could leave the wonderful world of retail and move full time into RE.  Well the time has come and its exciting and at the same time nerve-racking.  I need to be able to maintain the momentum and stay focused.  One of the things that I think is important here is support.  My partner is skeptical and I know that he has reason to be with all that he hears.  I am not sure but I feel optimistic and am looking forward to the challenge.

I know that this is completely random I was just wanting to get some feedback on pitfalls and things to look out for when going full time into the business.

Hi Robert,

If you do a search here on Active Rain, you may find a lot of pros and cons on part time vs full time! There are similar pitfalls whichever way you choose to go. I would guess that you would need a good six months of cash to live on at the very least! Especially in this prevailing market. You may want to keep a part time other job until you get going. Good luck and find your niche as soon as you can. (there are also many blogs here abount finding your niche:)
