It Is All About Caring

Woman Holding DogWelcome to my 200th post. Where does the time go when you enjoy sharing?

Real Estate as a profession is a great teacher. You learn whether as a Realtor, Stager, or other professional that

                        It Is All About Caring

Emmet Fox wrote that "If only you could love enough, you could be the happiest and most powerful being in the world."

Daily, those who are committed to serving people know that if they practice their love and get better at it each day and year, they become profoundly different people individually. It is such a worthy profession of service. They can then take that love that was practiced back to their families and the world itself and make it a better place. Love is an action.

Like a glass that is bottomless to drink out of, love and caring and kindness are constantly being refilled as you pour it out. It is truly one of the mysteries of life of how that works. But it is so rewarding and makes you feel so good inside. Be thankful for all those who have found a "calling" in a "people" business.

Giving seems to follow that what goes around comes around ying and yang of the universe. I have heard this from many others who I have volunteered with. We all thought we would enjoy helping others. But at the end of the day when we looked back so much of the help came back to us. It was very rewarding and a revelation. Makes you wonder why everyone isn't doing more "non-profit" time during the week.

Gary, I have to get back to helping.  I was so dilegent, then when the market went wild, my time was limited so it has been more financial.  Love and caring come from the heart, I think that is something you have inside, could be a tough task to "teach" it someone.  But each soul is worth it.  My clients are referred to me because my past clients and friends are because they know I care about each and everyone of them. Congratulations on your 200th post.  They are all so inspiring!

I think with helping just like exercise we have to time block it in our week, outside helping people in our business. Otherwise we get caught up in all that other stuff, much of which doesn't help anyone.

Gary, congratulations on your 200th post and what a great one it is.  You always have such an inspirational message.  I have to admit that I am not familiar with Emmet Fox, but after reading the quote that you referred to and after reading Lorraine & Loretta's comment about one of his books, I think I'm going to have to go to the bookstore.  I look forward to reading many more of your posts!  P.S. I love the photo you included in your post.

Charlene: I'm glad you liked the photo I selected about the "caring" topic. Pet visits to nursing homes, and the simple lighting up of an Alzheimer's patient with care I have witnessed firsthand. It really brings life down to very simple terms. I just wish more people could experience this. I hope they will eventually. Those who are caring and loving individuals already know what I am talking about.

I am glad that there are agents such as yourself.  It helps make the world a better place.  For some of us, the business is a way to practice professional services, but that's about it (less so for my spouse).  But I'm glad for those agents that truly feel for clients, especially in some of the dark days that we've seen of late.

John: Thinking of others should come naturally for all of us, but if not we just have to work on it to get better in that area.

Diane: Who cannot love a friendly dog? They do bring all that unconditional love with them.

Joan: I like that P P P term! Thanks.

Kathleen: Thanks for the balloons. I like your photo too.

Gary, Real Estate is a very rewarding profession.  We are helping people with what is probably their biggest investment and it is their home also!  I think it is a huge responsibility.

Marchel: The rewarding side is why I think those of us in real estate love it so much. You are right about it being a huge responsibility.

We are so fortunate to be let into a family's personal space and time while they make a transition.  They trust us with their secrets and their vulnerablilities.  We are careful and good stewards of their information and family situations and professional about our work.  But the truth is, we are in their space.  We are blessed and honored to be so trusted.  And most I know do not take that for granted.

Gary,

Congratulations! I don't know where I heard it but we only operate from two basic emotions, love and fear. As long as you are motivated by love you're in good shape.

You must be in very good shape!

Terrylynn: I think your words summed up the awesome responsibility we take on working with families. That is something that is not taught in real estate school. Kind of like doctors not taught about bedside manner. To be trusted is an honor, and we should not take that for granted.

Susan: Being driven by love is the highest motivation. By fear would be a sad way to live. We must have confidence in ourselves and put love in action in the world. Thanks for your complimentary words. I'm sure you have this love thing down too.
