Bike Week 2008 Has Begun~How's The Weather?

Welcome to Bike Week 2008! The first weekend of Bike Week looks to be absolutley beautiful for riding, sunny and warm.

Good news after the last couple days of highs in the 40s and 50s.

My favorite WX site to use to check our local forcast is from the National Weather Service but for some reason today they are using New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport for our current conditions.

The weather in Volusia County can really vary from town to town, area to area. I prefer to get my temparture & forcast from no further away then the Daytona Beach International Airport. They may change it back, there may be trouble with the local reporting station?

There is rain in our forcast for the middle of next week and the NWS radar site is great. The closet radar for Daytona is the Melbourne, FL Radar, but it covers a wide area and has a "Loop" mode so you can almost determine when the rain will end.

This radar site will also show you if there are any watches or warnings in effect with watch or warning boxes. If you look at the the left side of the screen you can click on the Tampa Bay Radar to see if the rain is coming from the west and how long it will take to end.

Another site you can check is My Ride On My Fox, not only does it have weather updates, but Event Updates, photos, places to visit and messages boards.

Don't forget, Big Mike Griffin will be at the Broken Spoke in Ormond Beach on US 1 starting this Sunday at 1pm!

Haven't talked to my folks this week, but I'm sure they will be calling about bike week sometime over this weekend! They're in Palm Coast...

Soooooooooo ... looks like you might not want to trade for our 28 degrees and snow? LOL Hope you have a good time! Live it up!

Lysa...thank you, thank you for that beautifulpicture of the sunny beach I could almost smell the warm breeze!

Oh...I wish I was still down there! We have more snow coming tonight and we're out of places to put it.

I was going to write a Bike Week post, but I figured you'd beat me to it :P I'm sure I will at some point this week though. But why is it that is always gets cold during Bike Week? It stinks! I hope the forecast is true. I'll be at my condo project on Sunday, which is only a block from Main Street. So I'll probably wander over and stroll around for a while. Are you going to be there?

40"s 50"s???? (send some of that up here's) ooooh what a treat LOL. Have fun at bike week take lots of pictures for us..

Carol, I'm game, but the rest of Florida's population may not be so thrilled with the idea! :)

Joan, I took that photo Christmas weekend of 06, it was 80 that day :). Glad you enjoyed it! (I was on the pier looking for whales)

Monika, I have a reallllly big back yard :)(hint) I wish you were still here too, we didn't get to meet!

Lisa, I'll actually be working that day at the Broken Spoke with Big Mike on US 1. Hopefully we'll have a good crowd, the wx is supposed to be great!! I hope the forcast is right too for our out of town friends sake.

We had planned a trip this winter but things didn't work out. I'm looking forward to being down again this year tho...who won the big race?

Jeff, that happens a lot, maybe next year huh? Who won the big race? Good question.... I think one of the Busch brothers but don't quote me. I don't follow the new NASCAR, it's not the NASCAR I cut my teeth on.
