I personally think the biggest thing you can do to get a quick sale on your home is to be an optimist and here is why. You have heard the phrase, "If you think you can, or you think you can't, you are right!" Well, I think this also applies to selling your home.

If you are negative, you won't do the things to your home to get it sold quickly, like keep it clean, pricing it right, and just the doing the little things that it takes to sell a home. When you are positive you have a happier outlook on things and it shows when someone comes to see your home. It makes them feel happy and can make a home sell quicker.

If you are buying a home, would you rather buy it from someone who is happy and willing to work with you or someone who has a negative comment for every little thing you say? I've walked away from negative buyers when looking for investment properties, just because I don't want to deal with the negativity and the headaches that I know will come from this type of person.

So, be an optimist and get your home sold! I believe it will sell and so should you!

I would qualify that in one small way...be an optimist but keep both eyes open and price to sell, not sit. Remember, "proper pricing prevents preforeclosure!"

(hey, I like that.)

Todd, unknowingly negative associates were stripping my optimism,  my customers sensed this and let me know immediately.  Thanks for the post.

I would say that this is one of my frequently quoted messages to my children. If you think you can or you think you can't - you're right. Good segway into real estate Todd.....

Todd~Here you are with such a great reminder to all of us. A good friend of mine was so frustrated for not closing any deals, so she started saying affirmations ever day. She called yesterday and told me "I believe that I could and kept telling myself that, now I have 3 new people that I'm helping".  That was inspiring!

You're right that sometimes you can practically feel the sellers' energy in the way the house is presented--I've heard clients use the phrase "This is a happy house"..who wouldn't want to buy a happy house!  Cheers, Harley

Todd, You're so right! Negativity is such a deterrent. Yuk. It repels and positive attitudes draw. Later in the rain~Deb

Jeff - That is a lot of "P"s for one sentance.

Kevin - You have good clients then if they were willing to tell you the truth rather than leave and go somewhere else.
