I seem to be getting more and more "Please update the status of the BPO" calls and emails.

I accepted a BPO at 9 a.m. this morning.  At 9:30, I get a phone call asking for a status update.

On Wednesday at 9 am, I accepted a BPO due on Monday.  No problem.  At 10:30 I received a phone call asking if I could complete the order by 1 pm on Wednesday (same day).  I said that I couldn't but I could complete it by Thursday.   They said fine.  At 1:30 Wednesday (same day) I received a phone call asking me about my overdue BPO.

Oh I thought it was just me.  I'm sick and tired of these calls.  They email you the order and you accept, due date out 5 days and they call you and call you and call you about making sure to have it in on time and status update.  I've almost wanted to stop taking orders from one because it's almost harassment now, LOL.  RRR, that one.  THEY ARE TERRIBLE!  I accepted two on Wed, order due Sunday.  I've had 1 call after accepting Wed, 2 on Thurs am and pm, and 1 so far today - hey it's not midnight yet they could still call.  CRAZY!  LEAVE ME ALONE PEOPLE!  LOL

There is a lot of pressure on the BPO companies to "clean up" their act and file the reports on time.

I asked a manager at Clear Capital last month about these types of calls and she put it very plainly...they lost a client in the NE due to slow turn around times. That client was a 300+ per week order and basically supported their business in that part of the country.

I believe that these calls are an attempt to pressure the agent to "Rush" the order without paying an additional fee.  Especially if you are in the habit of turning them in early in the past.  I turned one in on the same day It was assigned.  It was close to home, easy to photograph, and I was already running comps on the area.  They seem to expect it all the time now.

I don't remember the last time I was alloted five days for a BPO! I work with a half a dozen or so companies and most allow two to three days.

We had freezing rain today; called and asked if I could extend to tomorrow - they asked if they could put me on hold to check the weather! What? She came back and said okay; I have until Wednesday at 9 am. I can only assume they thought that was a "dog ate my homework" excuse. It was not.

It seems hard it not impossible for a person in a warm west coast office to understand that our job on the east coast is made a little more complicated by weather.  They act as if we are lying when you ask for an extension due to weather.  The last time I asked for an extension I made sure each photo showed the ice and snow to prove my point.

When I read these comments it makes me really mad that these companies only pay $40-60 for our work and on top of it they think we're lying. Do you ever feel like a pushover? I had an appraisal on a pending sale the other day where the appraiser charged the client $400. I read the report and he performed an interior BPO that Clear Capital would pay us $60 for.

I know, I know, if I don't like the system, then I shouldn't do any more BPOs. The only reason I doing them is in hopes of getting an REO listing some time down the road from one of them.

They will hound you to get them done...... I have said  sure I can get it completed sooner, but the fee will be $_________  some times the agree.  But they seem to forget that BPO's is not our only business.
