Being classified as a REALTOR(R) comes with enormous responsibilities. It come's with exemplary reputations and qualifications bar none. It is NOT something that individual's should bat an eye at! It is something that we all hope our customers are looking for in a Real Estate professional.
We have a huge responsibility as REALTORS(R) in that we need to monitor what happens from the first meet and greet (Smiling, you say, "Hello, my name is Karen Monsour and I am a REALTOR(R) with EXIT Realty Properties, it is my pleasure to meet with you today.") to the closing table where (Mr. and Mrs. Buyer is has been such a pleasure working with you for the last few months, I hope you had a wonderful experience. If there is anything that I can assist you with in the future or one of your friends, please do not hesitate to call me.)
That is the beginning and the end. How do you handle the "IN-BETWEEN'S" - meaning the dealings with the mortgage people, the title companies, the lender (ahhh, waiting for "the package").
Do you work with a mortgage broker, do you suggest your customer's get more than one GFE? Do you suggest they shop around? Often times, this attitude- not pushing them to use a specific lender gives you credibility. It allow's them a sense of control (even though you need to be in control of the customer and the deal). It allow's them choices.
Attitude is defined by Webster's Dictionary as:
1. a bodily posture showing mood, action, etc.
2. a manner showing one's feeling's or thoughts
3. one's disposition, opinion, etc.
In the Real Estate arena, I like to think of the attitude becoming a product of how you as a REALTOR(R) present yourself from the original salutation. The attitude of the customer and their dealing with you comes as a first impression. First positive impressions in real estate deals will reflect the attitude your customer develops from the presentation of properties, to the consideration of an offer, to the closing table...and what they perceive will determine whether or not you get any more referrals. That being said, In my opinion, YOUR ATTITUDE, will breed your future success. Dressing for success doesn't hurt either.
What do you think?
