Web Commercials-Agents Ramp up your website!

In the savvy high tech Seattle area there are many high profile corporations including Microsoft, Safeway, Starbucks, Kenworth & Alaska Airlines.  It's typical for the real estate consumer to begin their search online.  Once the consumer becomes more serious about making a move they want a real estate expert to assist them, understanding there is invaluable knowledge & expertise that goes into a real estate transaction.

Having a web video has been very helpful for my clients who are relocating to the area.  They have enjoyed getting to know me before they meet me!  Take a look at my website/web video.  Let me know if you have any questions.  Always happy to help!

That sounds very cool.  I went to your website and I can hear the audio, but I see a blank green screen.  Is this only me?

It runs on Quicktime.  I'm getting a 2nd version of Windows Media player to load soon.  Maybe that's why.

Nice video!

Suggestion:  Either remove it from the home page and put it on an interior page OR make it an OPTION to play the video.

I ALWAYS recommend that you stay away from putting videos or audio on websites that start by default.

1)  Most people surf at work. That's a fact. Most people work in cubicles.  Most aren't SUPPOSED to be surfing at work!  Therefore 1) their sound is always turned off, which then just wastes bandwidth downloading a video they're not going to watch and slowing the download process for no valid reason...or they quickly SHUT DOWN their browser to avoid being "caught" surfing at work... and your site is gone... maybe forever if they don't know how they found it in the first place.

2)  There is nothing more annoying and aggravating than speaking with a client on the phone as you're surfing the web and BANG....  some obnoxious website starts pounding you with music, talking, etc.  It's embarrassing and unprofessional as your client hears the blaring sound from your computer!  Again, the browser gets shut down immediately to shut the thing up... and they never return.  This happened to me just two days ago in fact.  I was NOT happy. I was a bit angry in fact. Why make people mad at you before you even get started....?

3)  Everytime I go to your home page or possibly hit the back button, I have to hear that video starting again?  And again?  And again?  You're going to get on my nerves faster than you're going to get put in my rolodex.  It's annoying. It's REALLY annoying.

Video has it's place (that's my business..... !) But you need to execute it properly or you risk alienating those customers in which you are looking to attract.....  not the desired results!  It must always be a conscious CHOICE to play your video or audio.

Thanks Fred You're right I do intend to make it a link once I have the other version.  I will put the links on the homepage though.  At present, the Quicktime version doesn't work for everyone.  I just think have a web video is so important.  I get great feedback from people.

 Thanks for the input!

Carmen, I love the Video!  Very professional, and well produced.  Video worked great for me and the only question I have is; did you do this yourself, or hire someone to produce this?

Felix & Bob- It was professionally done.  You would never know how nervous I was by watching it.  I kept slipping up but it was edited and she made me feel so comfortable!  Here's her website. http://www.mediainmotionvideo.com/  There are several other examples of her work too.  I did it a while ago but it was about $1,000.  I've had a great response!
