Okay, this picture IS from last year but it won't be long before we will be seeing these flowers blooming here in Brookings, ( some already are! just not foxglove, but I just love this picture.) Our mild climate gives us the nick- name "The Banana Belt" and we can boast an average year round temp of 65*. This is my first post and as a kick off I just want everyone to know what a paradise Brookings Oregon is! Many people come to Brookings as a retirement destination, some buy second homes here for vacation purposes and still others just can't resist the small coastal town atmosphere and want to make this their home town. With property prices lower than most California coastal towns, Brookings does have a special allure! We will be having our annual Azalea Festival in May and will post more on this later!
