HELP ME! What are the Pros and Cons of "Service for Life"?

By
Real Estate Agent with Samson Properties DC#: SP98357714

Hi Fellow Realtors, One of my Team Members just asked me about a service called: "Service for Life". She seems to be quite optimistic about its results. Thus, I would like to pose a few questions to you:

INSTRUCTIONS:  PLEASE COPY AND PASTE INTO THE THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS INTO THE "COMMENTS" SECTION, then PROVIDE THE ANSWERS TO EACH QUESTION IN YOUR COMMENT.

1. Have any of you used "Service for Life"?

2. If so, How long have you been using this service?

3. Did you receive any "significant" benefits from it?

4. What specific, detailed benefits do you receive from this service?

5. Was your success immediate? Explain.

6. Was your success over time? Explain.

7. Is "Service for Life" considered immediate prospecting results OR over a span of time prospecting results?

8. What is the difference in "Service for Life" versus sending out a regular "canned" newsletter to your farm and Sphere of Influence?

9. Was using this service time consuming?

10. If so, how did you combat the time consuming task? (i.e. Did you hire a Virtual Assistant, Personal Assistant, etc, college student, etc?)

11. In your opinion: Is Service for Life cost-effective OR expensive?

12. Do you feel the need to supplement this service with personal notes, pop-bys and a phone call? NOTE: The personal touch is just so important to me.

13. Would you recommend "Service for Life" to other Real Estate Agents?

14. Why? Your experience and input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No, haven't used it, don't ever intend to.  Just work on your database.  Keep in contact with them, provide a sense of community and enjoy the ride.  Check out Brian Buffini on the RSN channel.  He offers really good tips and systems!  Look into the 100 Days to Greatness, it will change the way you do business!

It's a Good Life!

Karen -- We send out an e-Newsletter to my SOI monthly.  I received one rental lead last year as a result of it, but that's it.  One of my colleagues sends out a newsletter to her farm.  She sounds out 10,000.  She gets some of the vendors to pay for this service.  Am thinking about how to configure such a thing.  Let me know how things turn out for you.

It is now 2012, and I have not heard of anyone in particular who has used Service for Life Newsletter.  I do not that, as stated above, that one of my former colleauges sent out 10,000 newsletters per month, so obviously, she tekes a goodly number of listings in her farm area.  Other than that, it seems like the best direct mail marketing comes from sending out Just Listed and Just Sold cards and staying in contact with my SOI, family, friends, acquaintances and business partners (smile).
