Hi JaneAnne, I enjoyed reading about Green Asheville and what people are looking for in that regard.  Very interesting. Quite a growing market isn't it!  Thanks for the great post.  Guess you'll be seeing a few of our Haywood County medical patients in your area!

I have to admire buyers who know what they want, it's a well thought out list. But.......at some point how realistic is this list? I'd be temped to take them by the hand to a eco friendly builder.

janeAnne -- These folks are so lucky they found you.  It certainly looks like Green has some to Ashville.  New Hampshire is working to catch up, but I am afraid we are behind.  Let us know how this turns out.  It looks like you may have found the perfect home for them.

Every time I see someone paving over land with concrete or asphalt I wonder if they even knew about the paving products that exists that allow water to naturally leach through to the ground and potentially address most of the new drainage issue they may be creating.

Great resource list.  That's a lot of green built homes in progress right now, compared to the total number certified!

What general increase in cost are you seeing for a green built home vs a traditional home?

Asheville has sure set a standard for the rest of the state. I'm going to bookmark this page for your excellent resources. I'm originally from Haywood County, so I love to keep up with what's going on in that neck of the woods. Congratulations on making such a positive impact!

Thanks, janeAnne, for writing this post.

In my last post I was asked, in an astute comment, what the top 3 green features were.

As I'm not an expert, I guessed based upon my personal experience.

Now I have a much better idea.

Thank you.

Hi janeAnne - wow, I don't even know what most of the things on their list mean!  I guess that's sad, huh?  But for those buyers, they clearly connected with the perfect agent who can help them best in their quest for a green home in Asheville.  Looks like some great links you've listed there - I'll have to do some self-educating.   ;-)
