Newbie's First Blog Post - Learning REO

By
Real Estate Agent with Broker, Dills Real Estate

Dealing with a little bit of anxiety in posting this first blog post.  I've commented on some posts in other blogs so far; but that's different than creating your own - right?

A little background about me to provide some context!

I'm a new agent serving the Fort Worth/Dallas metroplex.  Mostly Tarrant County which surrounds Fort Worth.

Off to a somewhat slow start in real estate (4 transactions in first 6 months) but not totally unexpected.  I've been told by numerous colleagues - and read in countless books - that this is the case for new agents especially if you're working in a town you didn't live your entire life in (read, no sphere of influence).

I'm a transplanted Californian who didn't come directly from California to Texas.  No, I served in the military for 20 years and retired; then took a consulting job and relocated from the East Coast (Virginia Beach) to Houston.  Made a brief detour from Texas back to Sacramento California to be near to and supportive of my mother for her last few years (she had cancer).  But then moved right back but this time to Dallas.  Let's face it, the folks in Houston are some of the friendliest people on earth, but the humidity down there sucks!

Hi Kent, nice first post.  Thank's for emailing me.  I just wanted you to know that before I respond, that  I had read some of your posts.  I did not read them all, but I scanned them and have some great ideas for you.

Yes, my first post was a bit stressfull too.  I read it 10 times, then made my wife read it before I read it 2 more times.  Congrats on taking the first step, and good move becoming a rainmaker.
