The truth is stranger than fiction!

A property owner was sitting in his car when I arrived at work (I had only met his brother so I didn't know him) he got out of his car and followed me to the door before I could unlock the office. Where he proceeded to tell me with a very red face about the prior nights events.

He had shown up at the family home (last night) to find someone tearing up the vinyl flooring in the kitchen, whats more this person spoke broken English at best. But the brother goes on to tell me the young foreigner was told to remove the carpet and vinyl by the new owner (his boss). My never met client tries to tracts down the the owner who hasn't actually passed papers yet and find out why Steve (me) gave him the keys to start some work.

At this point I want to call the cops because I think there is about to be an assault (on me). The soon to be/ but not yet owner had a guy on the clock with nothing to do so he wanted to started the renovations early, he had asked me a week before and I said no. Further I said I would never let anyone touch a property they didn't own yet. Apparently the soon to be owner ran into the other brother -the one I did know (they had know each other from before the transaction) and ask for permission to start the work before the closing, no problem go ahead you'll own it tomorrow anyway.

As Robert accused me of trespassing, and damages bodily harm and arrest his brother Steve arrived for the closing. Steve the seller said he had said it was ok for the demo to start, it turns out the green card worker had heard his boss say Steve gave us permission to start the work but had assumed it was Steve the broker, so he had told brother Robert (scared to death) that the broker had given them the keys.

It's a funny story now but I was sweating bullets, and wishing for awful things to happen to the customer that morning. I Would enjoy hearing your scary then, but funny now stories.
