Do you move all furniture?  Or do you ask you clients to bring in movers if you want a heavy piece moved from one room to another?

They have a very large/heavy sectional....and it would have to be tilted to get it through to another room...what do you do??

For something really, really heavy other arrangements would have to be made - really large entertainment centers and piano's.  You would be surprised what you and and an assistant can do.  The person that helps me have really moved many, many heavy items.  You do have furniture sliders don't you?

Yes I do....I am just a bit worried about the huge heavy sectional that will probably need to be tilted to get thru a doorway....and DH is nagging at me not to dare even try it...because of a bad back.....but I don't feel right telling them they have to pay someone else to move it??

As a professional staging company we provide full service. If the clients would like to move the furniture ahead of time with respect to our consultation report that is great and they save money. If they want us to bring in labor to make it happen then we charge for that. You should find some labor in your area that rents out their services and provide that in your proposal. Any service, information or resources that we can supply we do. It helps bring your staging to a new level and you will increase your business. Find some big buffed guys to work on call for $15.00 an hour and charge $45.00 an hour for it. You will increase your revenue stream and profit margin. Make sure they are covered on your insurance.

Yes, I love those strong, muscular young folks that make lifting the heavy stuff look like a breeze. However, you might want to check with your insurance company to see how this would play out if there was damage to the homeowner's property, furniture or home.

Ah Natascha, isn't interesting to see the various solutions. Then you have to decide which one best suits you, this particular client and the place where you have already set yourself in your relationship with them. Are they the DIY types? Have you left room in your consultation for additional costs? Do you have the right contacts to help with the moving?

One other thing I thought about is that if it is indeed a sectional it should break up into some or many pieces. It may not be as difficult as you first envisioned. It will be fun to know what you do end up doing.

Natascha - I can't tell you how many times I've had to "muscle" furniture in and out of rooms. My assistant and I once moved a 600-lb television armoire (not something I'd recommend doing every day.) As a matter of fact I'm trying to type this with my arm in a brace - we packed up the storage area in preparation  for a vacant this weekend and my tendonitis is acting up.
