Did you know that college graduates and college students are noticing the reasonable prices of homes, and thinking it is a good time to buy?

This may be a new niche that everyone of us need to investigate.  Maybe we can offer a seminar or put an ad in the paper or college bulletin board, but keep in mind that some college students may have made the mistake of getting those easy to get credit card.  Therefore, they may have some problems on their credit.  Even with that the college student can still take advantage of the low prices of homes by you, as the realtor or mortgage broker, helping them understand how to clean up their credit and understand a mortgage and real estate is in general.

Remember, it is also our job to educate and have a team of professionals that help our clients and potential clients accomplish the Amerian Dream of homeownership.

This is a great group of peoploe to start dripping on with educational messages about what they need to keep in mind if they intend to purchase a home in the future.

To your success,

While it might seem like a great market... most have very little income or credit history. Although if you can educate them and show them your worth as an agent and the worth of a house.... once they graduate they are usually very qualified buyers!

Financial health is never explained well enough.  That is a great idea of having a seminar!  They need the direction and guidance

I just helped two teenagers buy homes... there are some great deals out there that are affordable to former renters.

Great point. My company is actually in the process of developing workshops to educate people on what is the best time to buy properties. You may have hit the nail right on the head

College students and especially graduates is a group of people that we need to seek after more. Companies this year are going to hire around 40% of college graduates. Hopefully that number will grow once the economy gets better. Great post.

Finally reading the post Serena after much discussion between us!

I sold a home to a 19 year old 2 years ago. At the table he asked if he could contact me when he was ready to invest. A year and a half later he called me. I am not a Realtor, but wow what a great follow up. I am still helping him understand the process as he saves money. We began last summer and he will be able to purchase this spring. Again, I am not a Realtor so I will just pass him along to one of my network of qualified Realtors in Philly.

There is no reason every Realtor throughout the country can't take advantage of the yearning many young people have to own a home. Education is the key as it is in most things in life.
