Open House today

I held an open house at 524 Feather River Way in Vacaville, Ca today. The wind blew in 6 people to take a look at this lovely home! This home features four bedrooms and three full baths. The sun was shining and the wind was pretty brutal today, I hope it's bringing in some awesome weather for tomorrow! Happy REALESTATE week to you! This week should hold some interesting turn of events as far as the FHA rollout of their temporary increase in the conforming loan limits.

Barbara, I hope your market is picking up and that one of those windblown folks buys! Keith in Portland

To tell you the truth Keith, it was a weird open house...I was glad to see people, October, November and December open houses had few if any visitors, January picked up, February was awesome, elbow to elbow, now it feels like a ghost town...the people are there, but everyone has a blank stare on their faces....

It was a beautiful weekend for an open house here as well.  We have seen an increasing number of people out looking for homes and stopping into the open houses.

Amazingly, I had about 10 visitors to my open yesterday.  I ran out of flyers.

In my local area, more and more buyer prospects are beginning to inquire about FHA financing.

Well, FHA loan limits will be lifted higher in high cost areas until 12/31/2008 we are all just waiting for the list of what maximum amounts are approved for each area, based upon data that only the government knows. It will be a temporary shot in the arm for some markets for some homes, decreasing the interest rates for what would have been a jumbo loan for that home, we will see what effect it has. FHA loans are as low as 3% down payment too. So, essentially, for about 8 1/2 months. I am unsure that after the word gets out, people see what they want, get approved and then buy it, it will only work for a few thousand buyers. BUT, anything will help at this time.

Barbara - We are definitely seeing an increase in activity in  Riverside County. I think we're going to have a busy spring and summer.
