Where to begin? Definitely not in the dirt, unless you are sliding into home trying to beat out the throw to the plate! There were a lot of great blogs this month in the Baseball Talk 101 Group. If I did not comment on your blog please forgive me as I read most but commented on too few.
We had some wonderful entries to the February Baseball Talk 101 Contest. There were three top winners and they were all ladies. Click HERE to read the blog announcing the winners! If you want to read the winning entries just click on the hyper-links below:

There was a blog that really caught my attention this month and stuck with me. The blog is entitled What I Love About This Time Of Year by Epcon Communities NE Columbia, SC Condo Community. In this blog the writer epitomized the feel of Spring Training and the important role it plays in the lives of the players and fans. Though there has been a lot of negatives surrounding this sport in the past couple of years and those negatives have been amplified over the past couple of months, this blog puts into perspective the sport we love and its importance. Please take a moment to read this short but very insightful post.
I do want to make it known that I was also going to highlight a couple of posts on the recent controversy. I have decided not to do so. I do not wish to contribute my energy nor my voice to the negative din that threatens the great American past time. I do recognize that this conversation is long overdue and is important to the future of the sport. That said, I would urge all readers of this blog to pay special attention to the Walt Whitman quote at the end of the What I Love About This Time Of Year post cited above.
Lastly, I would like to provide a link to the Baseball Talk 101 Season Long Contest - Your Winning Picks that is going on right now! There is still plenty of time if you would like to participate! There are NO judges for this contest only winning and loosing picks! ALL Active Rain members can enter! Entries must be posted prior to opening day of the regular season, March 25, 2008, Red Sox vs. A's at Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan! Click on the hyper-link above for all the details!
