Could the weather be any better than it has the last few days? I don't know about you, but this is why I put up with the 115 degree days during the summer! In our house, the blinds are open, the windows are letting in the fresh air...and the dust! The bad thing, of course, is that during the winter most houses are closed tighter than Ft. Knox and the existing dust, dirt, pollen, animal dander (I know, you get the picture...) is allowed to circulate and re-circulate throughout the house. What can you do about it? Here are a few suggestions that can be done on the weekends to get ready for the summer (and the "closed house syndrome") all over again.
1. Vacuum and steam clean all of the carpets in your home (this is important to reduce the existing dust load in the home).
2. Wipe all blinds, curtains and window sills clean (I know, I hate this one too, but my wife insists...)
3. Get the ladder or step stool out and clean the tops of the cabinets and shelves (don't be shocked when you see what you see...). Lots of dust accumulated where you can't normally see it.
4. Have your dryer vent serviced and cleaned (besides the obvious fire danger, clogged dryer vents cost you money in operating costs and contribute a huge amout of lint and dust in the home.)
5. Have your Air Ducts serviced and cleaned by a licensed contractor to ensure the job is done correctly and by National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) standards.
6. Call DUCTZ Indoor Air Professionals today at 623-466-8625 to schedule your complete Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) audit and home air duct/dryer vent cleaning today!
Thanks for the tips! Make it a great one!
