Aloha!

The Southwest Riverside County AOR is celebrating our 30th year in business. For the past 20 of those years we have enjoyed the services of Nancy Donahue-Jones as our AE/CEO. During that time our Association has grown from 150 members to over 5,000, We've dealt with membership expansions and contractions, facility relocations, association mergers, appreciating markets and declining markets, the transition from mls books to computer based mls to internet based regional mls, paper contracts to WINForms online and from being apolitical to being one the most active advocacy groups in the country.

Nancy has been a staff member of our Association since 1987, predating all but the most seasoned of our members. She has been our Executive Officer for nearly 20 years and has come to be one of the most highly respected EO's not only in the state but in the country. During that time she has served on numerous C.A.R.  and N.A.R. committees with distinction and has chaired several. She has also represented us to the board and finance committee of MRMLS, recently served on the CAR taskforce for the statewide MLS and is an alternate member to the state CREPAC committee, the highest any of our members have advanced in that political funding organization. In addition, Nancy has been an active member of the American Society of Association Executives where she has received numerous commendations as well as her accreditation as an AE, all of which have contributed to our well-being as an Association.

As of the end of March, Nancy will move on to the next step in her career. It has been a dream of hers for as long as I've known her but one of those things you just kind of joke about because the chances of it actually happening are pretty remote. Nancy will be moving to Hawaii as Chief Executive Officer for their entire State Association. Yeah, it's a pretty big deal, a great honor and recognition of the resume and experience that Nancy has put together. She'll be headquartered in Honolulu but will be required to travel to the other islands as their association strives to reach out to their members even more. It's a tough, tough job but somebody's gotta do it - and they decided there are none more qualified than our Nancy.

We will miss her in so many ways both large and small around our office, our community and in our travels. But we can take tremendous pride in having helped prepare her to take on the new challenges she will face. It is a credit and tribute to how well our association is run that she has this opportunity and I know she will do us proud. How do you thank someone who has given 20 years of their life to the betterment of our association? Seems like sending them to Hawaii is a pretty good reward. Thank you Nancy.

And congratulations to Hawaii. You are gaining a great EO and an awesome individual. Nancy constantly reminds us that the reason our association even exists is to serve our clients - The Realtor member. Her positive attitude and professional demeanor will serve you well. So when run into this little red-haired dynamo racing around trying to do 18 jobs at once, tell her to relax a little, buy her a Sea Breeze and tell her Gino says Howdy. Our loss - your gain.
