The county is comprised of 816+ square miles, has 42 municipalities: 3 cities, 20 towns and 19 villages. On the Eastern side of the county you have the Hudson River, on the west the Delaware River and Pennsylvania and the south side New Jersey.
Located 40 miles north of New York City, the county is the center of the Mid-Hudson River Valley. Transportation routes include three interstate highways, an international airport, rails, and the Hudson River.
As of 2006 the county population was 372,893. According to the 2005 census there were 114,788 households in the county. Median family income $71,455. The counties average annual wage grew 20% between 2000 and 2005.
