If anyone watches the meter tick like I do, you know that ActiveRain exceed 75,000 members today. Now that is a big number. But as we watch this number grow, I wonder how many of the newbies come into our world and struggle. I wonder how many look around for assistance. And then I wonder, how many of us, the ones that have exceed 25,000 points, the ones that have exceeded 50,000 in points, and especially the ones that have exceeded 100,000 in points.

When I was with Corporate America, the number 1 reason that loan officers left our company was because they could not get adequate training to keep up. I feel that this is true right here in the rain.

I am proud to stand up and say, if there is anyone out there that needs help, let me be the one to answer that question for you. Let me be the one that will help you move forward. let me be the one that you can come to when you need that little question answered. For the good and betterment of our community, it is time that we the people stand up and assist our community in its quest to reach and surpass 100,000 members.

Who is willing to stand beside me?

I'm there with you.  Although I have only been blogging on Active Rain for 6 months, I will be happy to help any newbies.  People have been so nice to me- so its time to pay it forward

Danny, I remember how lost I was just a year ago.  I actually came over to all the blogs tonight for the sole purpose of looking for new people.  I was so excited when someone responded to my post when I first started and I like paying it forward.  I will help any way I can.

Marchel, it is just as exciting getting that 5000th comment as it was for me to get my first one.

I'm with you too. Everyone here has been so gracious to me, and this community has helped me tremendously. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am to be a part of it. AR is like one big family. I may be one of the babies, but I'm willing to help in any way I can.

AR has been growing by leaps and bounds just since I joined in November of 2007. I remember being overwhelmed when I first joined but thanks to some good people here, I am discovering my blog voice and making some great associations!

Danny ~ Wonderful post.  We all need to be paying it forward and offering help to the newbies.  What has been given to us here in the Rain is something very special.  We should offer help and keep the community growing. It is the least we can do.  You know I am by your side.

I am really pretty new to the AR community and I am trying to understand the key aspects to focus on in order to boost my visibility on the site. I don't completely understand the points system (for example why some blogs posted get points and why others will have their points removed). I assume the accumulation of points is a tool that represents your presence on AR (please correct me if I am wrong). I always invite my clients/associates to read my blogs and respond, I have been invited to and joined a couple of groups, but I still feel like I am not using this tool to its greatest advantage. Any advice, inspiration or direction you can offer in these or other 'general' areas would be greatly appreciated.

points and the accumulation of points are monitored by the powers of AR. If the blog that you are posting is not original, then they can kick the points. Also, if you do not have at least 50 words in the post, thenno points are rewarded. Also, if you post inside a group through the POST TO GROUP button, this will not give points either.

I have added a few things that you can review to see more on this information.

Also, let me add this to my last comment. Join groups that mean something to you. If you are not going to participate in them, ie, writing a post to them or reading and commenting on post that are in them, then I would not join. I see so many people that are in groups that never ever post to that group of comment on anyone in that group.

Thanks so much for the encouragement! I just posted my first blog after being here a week, and it is a bit scary! It's good to know there's a net of supportive people around to help.

Hey Danny, I wanted to stop by and introduce myself...Linda found me wandering around in the rain and asked if I'd lost my way; if she could provide me with some help. She's been very helpful with me, giving me pointer and introducing me to people, and I saw that you played a big part in getting the "movement" started. I want to thank you, as well, as its good to know that there are people out there, like you, that are so giving. I look forward to being informative enough to be able to give help to those that are new one day as well. Thanks again for helping us "newbies" figure out which way to turn.
