I am constantly amazed by the number of foreclosed homes that our country is dealing with in today's market and today is no different.  I looked on the MLS today and noticed that there is a house that is listed under $19,000 that was recently on the market for $79,000.

The description states that the home has a newer kitchen and some updates.  I guess the rest of the house must be a mess.

Which brings up another thought, people do some of the strangest things when their homes are being foreclosed upon.  Some absolutely destroy everything in them.  Some take what they want, such as the kitchen cabinets, and some leave everything behind.

I guess the emotions from losing a house run rampant.  Anyway, those emotions help when I'm helping someone find a home.  The damage or mess left behind often creates some great bargains for someone willing to look beyond their emotions and the mess.

By taking a look at the things that matter the most in a home, the foundation, the location and the mechanicals, and looking beyond the cosmetics can often find a diamond worth quite a bit of money.

The list of foreclosures changes weekly here in Defiance, so buyers need to be on the lookout.  I have created a list of the area houses on my website www.DefianceAreaHomes.com that people can request to get the latest list.

If you're wanting to see that $19,000 house you better contact me quickly as I think at that price it probably won't last too long.

Thanks!

Scott

I thought you deserved a response to this Scott! Our most recent Foreclosure has  underwear hanging up on nails across the window! People do crazy things when foreclosure is looming ahead of them.

I'm sure it's tough when you feel like nobody has tried to help you out of the mess, but COME ON! Dirty underwear on nails across the top of the window? Definately not staged to sell!

Let me know if you want to see, and I'll give you the tour! teehee

Yeah, just when you think you have seen it all, then the view of how people live in their homes makes you appreciate what you have and where you are.

God is good and without Him, our jobs would be a lot harder.

Yes, it makes you wonder what people were thinking when they left their homes.  Some leave them in respected condition and other literally leave their homes to the animals!  When the animals get to live in the homes, that is when I am most disheartened!  I am over joyed when I find a "decent" forclosed home.  I am excited when I can help a family or young couple make their dreams of home ownership a reality.  That is why I love to sell real estate... when I get to help people meet their goals and find just the right home for them.

Thanks, Scott for being a part of our team!  We appreciate all the hard work and sincere effort that you put into helping your clients!  Keep up the great work!
