In preparing Henderson's  2008 budget, one of the guiding city initiatives was "maintain the City of Henderson's property tax at the same low rate for 18 years."

Our city leaders delivered on this goal, keeping the property tax rate at a low $0.71 per $100 of assessed valuation. This compares very favorably to Reno ($0.95), Las Vegas ($1.06) and North Las Vegas ($1.16).

At the city level, property taxes help pay for police and fire protection; street maintenance, lighting and flood control; parks and recreation facilities and programs; code enforcement; land-use planning; and customer service.

For more information on the City of Henderson's budget, see the Budget & Strategic Management page on the city's website, visit City Hall at 240 Water Street, or email COHBudget@cityofhenderson.com.
