Live Cheap or Die, The low cost of ownership in Lincoln NH.

Spring View of Loon Mountain from Lincoln NH.

The State of New Hampshire's Motto may be "Live Free or Die", But the town of Lincoln Could be live cheap or Die. You see Lincoln New Hampshire is one of the largest towns in total acres (in the state), but at the same time has the least amount of private land of any developed town in the state. With 95% of the land officially with-in the White Mountain National Forest Area (which is federal land, and managed by the park service). The local town government has no budget concerns for this land.

Property in Lincoln is taxed at $8/1,000 ($3.04 town,$1.12 County and $1.73 school) This rate currently includes municipal water and sewer at no additional charge. When there is a Half a billion dollars worth of vacation homes in town and a graduating class at the local high school of around 20 students, the locals get wonderful services. The vacation home owners get a low tax burden, beautiful amenities and access to the 900,000 acre National Forest and the Kancamagus scenic highway (national recognized as a must see on New England Foliage tours).

Being one of the lowest property tax towns, in one of the lowest tax burden states is a good thing, having the four season recreational offerings and the beautiful White Mountain National Forest out the back makes it great.

The secret is out, great state, great town and wonderful skiing, Visit Lincoln New Hampshire's Loon Mountain.

Thanks for describing the treasure of Lincoln, NH.  I have never been to the state, but hope to do a foliage tour some day.   I will definitely put Lincoln on my list of places to visit!

Both comments are reason enough to write such a post, everyone must like the town they live in or they wouldn't stay but to sing it's virtues should tell readers it is a truly special place. best to all Steve L.

Nice post Steve!

Have managed to collect/gather a good following out here among my guests, owners, sellers, etc. Word-of-mouth continues to be one of the best tools out there (ie: they told 2 friends, and so on, and so on). Anyway...

Am still "flyin' solo" (as relates to cyber space), but am getting one heck of an online education in the process through trial-n-error. I've just discovered much of what's out there though, and wouldn't be so bold as to claim I've got a full grasp as to each one's inner-workings quite yet. I am, however, comfortable/confident enough to know - without a doubt - that once I am able to tie each one of these newly discovered sites-n-blogs in to one another in some fashion, it'll be well worth the effort. Meanwhile...

Seems to me that working together (in a sense) out here in cyber-space can only help, right? And it would appear to me, that - at least here in our neck of the woods - we're among an extremely select few making use of much of what "modern-technology" has to offer! So, with that in mind...

Let's stay in touch!

Jason & Deanna

You want people to discover the beauty, and the value in the property you are marketing the trick is to do it in a way that doesn't come across to salesy or to Data driven, I just hope to find a good balance, and thanks again for your kind words if ever something I write inspires you to write about your area as well.
