Maybe by now you have seen today's headline on money.cnn.com:

"Housing: Best time to buy in four years

"Home values have declined across the country, giving homebuyers the best buys they've had since 2004."House Appreciation

We all know how negative the media has been about the housing market.  Especially the big boys, like CNN.  So I figure if Money.cnn says it's time to buy, this has got to be the bottom.

What do you think?

By the way, Bradenton, Florida is one of the little red squares in South West Florida.

Now let's all tweak this up a notch and spread the word in a big way.  Can you imagine if 50,000 activerain members started promoting that now is the time to buy and explain why?  That would be a tremendous amount of positive publicity and it would be very helpful for the buying public and it will also assist in selling off a fair amount of active inventory.  It would be a win/win for everyone.

Thanks for the heads up Dan ! - and I agree with Sam - this is the week / month for all those market reports to be posted on Localism and get the word out as to why this market is the best and create a huge presence and positive attitude in the market!  I was surprised there was so little red on the map - after listening and reading the media for months - I would have thought Crimson was a predominant color! It is not too late and this colored map ( love visual aids ) just shows how the negative reporting has colored my mind map of assumed reality.

Well, finally some good press.  With a little luck we can move the market up and forward and at the same time, remember the lessons of yesterday.

Dan - this is great! I saw this earlier today from another friend of mine as well. Central Florida seems to be all yellow squares!

I think we all hope we've reached the bottom. My year is going well so far =D  Maybe it's my new slogan "Real estate is great in 2008!"

Keith - Thanks.

Sam - I like the way you think.

Richard - Nothing is ever as bad as the media makes it out to be.

Jesse - Good thought.

Simon - Central Florida hasn't been hit as hard because that's where you sell property!

Lisa - Your mind-set is great.

Dan, I've been seeing similar articles and news features. Things have picked up here in California.....I think we will recover slower....but at least it has picked up. We filled our board for February! I like all your new graphics and your links. I need to do similar!
