I met Buyers and their Agent at one of my listings today.  They were doing their home inspection. After the typical meet and greet, I asked them, "Are you excited?"

"YES!" the woman said enthusiastically, and she and her boyfriend looked at each other and giggled a little bit.  Oh, they were happy, all right.  They were ecstatic.  They were giddy.  They were in love.  Unequivocally in love....with my listing.

I had 60 people go through this listing.  You read it right - 60.  Everyone had very positive things to say about it, but I only got one crazy offer in writing, and a couple no-show buyers. Lots of Buyers who "had interest" and who "put it on the short list."  But nobody fell in love with it until these two walked in the door.  And now my pretty rehab is getting the attention and love that it deserves.

My listing found its true love, its soulmates, its Mr. and Mr.s Right, and I'm happy for all parties involved.

I love this business.

There is nothing better than seeing the smiles and excitement that comes when people find their dream home (or sell their old one so they can move on to their new dream home!). This is a great business!

Some-days we are Realtors Some-days we are match makers ...and then there are those says we are just miracle working match making Realtors. But heck we love what we do and when we see a buyer fall in love with a new home  it makes the day all worth it

Last month I had a similar feeling when I got a call from a couple I had been working with for a year on a Tuesday morning.  It's important that you know was Tuesday morning because this remarkable young lady had given birth to their second son late Saturday night.  After over a year on the market, it had just taken a huge price reduction and was now in their price range.  We went over right then to take a look and they fell in love and we wrote an offer on it the next day.  It was so wonderful to see this young growing family find their place to call home.

Heather:  Sometimes a home wants 60 lookers before it gets the love it needs.  Go figure!!  Congratulations!

Thanks for all the responses.  I love that "connection" between and Buyer and a house.  I love it for the Buyers whose eyes light up, for Sellers who sigh a huge sigh of relief, and for the house.  Every house should be loved and appreciated :)

I see from the responses that you all feel the same way.  It's funny how we manage the "business" of the transaction, but all really appreciate the emotional side of it.

Thanks for stopping by everyone.

Hi Heather:  What a neat story.  "Matchmaker, Matchmaker, make me a match."  And you did.  Thanks for sharing this with us.
