In May of 2003, my sister, Kelli, was diagnosed with a very aggressive breast cancer that required a mastectomy, 8 rounds of chemo, and 35 radiation treatments. She was only 33 years old and had 3 small children. A breast cancer survivor for 4 ½ years, Kelli has donated countless hours in the fight against breast cancer. In honor of my sister, Kelli, I am participating in RE/MAX "SOLD for the CURE" program. List your property with me in 2008 and upon the sale of that property, I will make a donation to Komen Sold for the Cure.
Thanks! My family was so blessed that my sister was able to receive outstanding medical care. I believe in Komen's vision of a world without breast cancer. I want to see that for all sisters, mothers and friends.
Kathy~This is such a heartfelt post that represents the way that you give back. I'm so glad your sister is holding strong and with the love from a sister like you, how fortunate she is. With this program through your brokerage, does it give the seller the availability to contribute as well? I have been trying to come up with something like this for my closings in 2008. Have a great weekend!
Julie, with this program you can contribute any amount you wish and it sends a letter telling your sellers that you have contributed in their name. A gentleman I know sent me a nice note and a check telling me that he didn't have any property to sell but wanted to contribute to this wonderful cause. Of course anyone can at anytime donate to the Susan B Komen for the Cure foundation. Which was founded by a sister too. Also don't forget to check out remax.com and click on the 'for the cure' icon and sign up for the breast cancer checkup reminder.
My mother is currently fighting breast cancer which has metastasized to the bone marrow in about 50% of her bones. I'm so glad that your sister was able to win her fight against it!
Best of luck, Kathy! Such a great cause!
