I am certainly not "the expert" when it comes to technology, specifically Internet Technology but I have been around the block a time or two in my 20 years as a Real Estate Agent. As a matter of fact for those of you who do now know me my web site has been named one of the top real estate web sites in the U.S. by Realtor Magazine and and have been described in Kiplinger Magazineas a visionary in on-line real estate information.

So I feel like I am not speaking out of term by saying I am sooooo tired of hearing about all of these web 2.0  technologies that are supposed to be new when in fact they are not! I don't want to alienate anyone so I will not mention any names but I am sure you have some of these same technologies in mind. You know the technologies that some people are just now discovering and wanting us to think it is new, or maybe the new technologies out there that are really providing the same information and functionality in the same manner it always has but has simply put a new interface or pictorial view into the mix to fool you into thinking it really is new.

I and my team are currently in the process of finding the real new technologies and are formulating exciting new plans for incorporating them into a new website and marketing strategy that we will be deploying in the first quarter of this year.

I am so excited about these things that I am already sharing our findings with fellow agents such as yourself. Yes back to that same old saying "People think I am loosing my mind". They tell me Judy you are going to give away all of your secrets and sooner or later everyone will be doing what you are doing and yes to a degree this may be true but can you think of a better way to keep your self motivated to expand your knowledge and remain a leader and not become a follower, and I am too excited about all of the things we are discovering to keep these findings to myself anyway.

As a matter of fact I am attending the annual Sell-a-bration conference sponsored by the Council of Residential Specialists this week and yes of course I am speaking and sharing the latest and greatest technology secrets I and my team have discovered and continue to discover everyday. I am not stopping here either I am also going to spill my guts next week on February 8, 2007 during a counseling and mentoring call for iSucceed. During this call I will be speaking once again about harnessing the power of Internet marketing for big profits.

Tell me are any of you finding it as frustrating as I am to dig through all the hype about the new web 2.0 and finding things that are really new? Maybe you can share some of the things you have found to be new that maybe I have not discovered yet. Yes to answer your question I will be sharing the information I have found with  you guys here to when I return from my trip.

Judy - I don't claim to be an expert by any means, but I do know that the business paradigm has changed significantly over the past decade, especially as it relates to real estate, and that it is changing more and more rapidly with each passing day. Matt Heaton shared an excerpt from a book he was reading and I thought was extremely telling. It was entitled "Secrets of On-line Persuasion."

There are new Web 2.0 technologies available and the list is growing.  From phone translator services like Jott, Google Maps to online databases - these tools will make your life a bit easier.  You are correct in the fact that some of these services put on a new coat of paint and called themselves 2.0, some are real innovators.
