Baseball and softball are integral parts of the American landscape. In almost every community in the United States you can find players and spectators enjoying this great American pastime. If you are fortunate enough to have a major league or minor league team in your town its financial impact can be felt and measured! Not only do cities benefit from the associated revenue generated from sports teams, the towns also benefit on a cultural level.
With that said I would like to announce the March Baseball Talk 101 Contest! This month's contest is going to highlight your local community and how it benefits from local baseball or softball! This is an opportunity to show your local expertise! Whether you have a Major League Baseball franchise
or a Minor League Baseball franchise 
or an Amateur Softball Association league 
or Little League Baseball and Softball 
The challenge this month is to write a post about your local baseball and/or softball organization(s). Some things to consider including are links to the organization's website and any first hand experience or insight you, as a local expert, may have. Pictures, graphics, and videos are also great to use!
Now for the contest rules:
- Your Post must be public!
- Post your blog in Baseball Talk 101, Fantasy Sports 101, and Posts to Localism in addition to any other groups you wish to post in!
- To be eligible, tag your post with local baseball in addition to any other tags you may choose.
Now for the Payoff (In Addition To Being The Local Expert):
- First Place Receives 1000 Points
- Second Place Receives 750 Points
- Third Place Receives 500 Points
- 200 Points For Every Entry In Addition to the 200 For Posting A Blog
The judges for this contest will be Danny Thornton, founder of both Baseball Talk 101 and Fantasy Sports 101, Rich Dansereau, co founder of Baseball Talk 101, and Bob Stewart, AR Power!
This contest will run from today March 5, 2008 to March 23, 2008 with the winners announced on March 24, 2008. Of course none of the judges are eligible to win but we will both post to the contest!
