Henderson County is located in Western NC, covers a 375-square mile area and was incorporated in 1838. Per the 2004 census Henderson County's population was 96,124 and I suspect we have added more folks since than. The area is generally known as a destination location for many relocating families/retirees.
The five incorporated areas of Henderson County are the city of Hendersonville, the Village of Flat Rock, the Town of Fletcher, the Town Laurel Park and the Town of Mills River.
The county sits 2,200 feet above sea level and is surrounded by the Great Smokies and the Blue Ridge Mountains. You will find 4 distinct, generally mild seasons (of course there are always exceptions.) Summertime not only finds many tourists but a plethoria of summer residents fleeing the Florida summer heat and enjoying the mountains and all they have to offer -- beauty and lots of outdoor recreation for all ages.
Henderson County and the Hendersonville region still have a small town ambiance with many big town social and cultural amenities. Visit my Website at http://NC-Hendersonville.com for much more local information. Better yet, come visit and experience why we're just a great place to call home!
