February 2, 2007  The Fairy Blogmother of all Fairy Blogmother's Frances Flynn Thorsen of Pennsylvania poked her heard out of her borrow this morning, looked for her shadow and proclaimed the RealTown Blog of the Day...  Wait....Maybe I am getting Groundhogs Day confused with the RealTown Blog of the Day.  Happy Groundhogs Day... It's not a RealTown Blog but it is a blog that plays welll with other blogs...  Frances said the RealTown Blog of the Day is:

"Sellsius Blog
Joseph G. Ferrara and Rudolph D. Bachraty III
New York City"

Sellsius° Blog continues to amaze me with how well it plays with other blogs.

Part of my confusion is probably that I gave Active Rainer Maureen Francis a sealed email envelope of my guesses for the upcoming RealTown Blogs of the Day earlier this week and so far I only got one right.  I thought being a non RealTown Blogger Maureen Francis was a disinterested party... not so as my Fairy Blogmother has proved today that RealTown Blogs can play well with other blogs.

"The only thing we can say about blogging that we haven't said before is be passionate, be yourself, and try to have some fun.  The blogging community is a sharing community.  Just reach out and someone will take your hand.  Our door is always open,"  says Joe Ferrara on the Frances' RealTown Blog of the Day post on RealTowns new portal.

OK so I don't have an image with an open door.. this door looks welcoming doesn't it? Sellsius° Blog is one of the most welcoming blogs I personally have ever run into.  Of course I have been a fan for a long time.. Sellsius° Blog is a fun blog.

Today Sellsius° Blog  wrote about Groundhogs Day:

"In 1993, the film Groundhog Day, egocentric TV weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) wakes up every day to relive the same Groundhog Day (did the hit in the head with the shovel cause it?), trying unsuccessfully to seduce his producer Rita (Andie MacDowell). His loss of ego, concern for others and embracing of life (and acceptance of death) leads to love, enlightenment and February 3rd (at least that's how I saw it)."

I have never seen the movie...Groundhog Day but I hear about it this time each year. Sellsius° shares this poem from the movie:

The poetry quoted by Rita to Phil is from Lay of The Last Minstrel by Sir Walter Scott:

The wretch, concentrated all in self,
Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust, from whence he sprung,
Unwept, unhonor'd, and unsung.

Sellsius° Blog is...an Active Rainer.   They occasionally post a teaser to get Active Rainers to Sellsius° Blog. By all means go.... read, have fun, comment, participate. There are a number of RealTown Bloggers on Active Rain. A couple of their names or their blogs names are in the sealed email envelope I sent to Maureen Francis but maybe if I want to prognosticate I need to look farther afield... or maybe I should just look it up each day and be delighted with what my Fairy Blogmother has ferreted out as the Blog of the Day.

Congratulations Sellsius° Blog on being named the RealTown Blog of the Day!  Thanks Frances for keeping me guessing.  Happy Groundhogs Day.

Groundhog Day was filmed right here in a northern Chicago suburb: Woodstock. They celebrate in a big way. And, make a party out of it. And, of course, with the 'da bears' highlighting this weekend, can ya blame 'em?

Joe and Rudy: You guy are the best. Frances is a dynamo.

Bill Murray's best movie  is mid 80's  'Razor's Edge' from a W. Somerset Maughm novel ... it's a melodrama but it has a great line something like "We are not tourists, we are travelers."  I got to use the line sailing a small boat into Baltimore Harbor... the people I said it to were foreigners and it probably had no effect on them.. but it was fun to say anyway.

MF: I did not know I introduced you to Sellsius but I thought I introduced Bonnie but she says the Place Blogger woman did
