I received an email the other day from Darin Persinger, team leader up in Madison, WI. Darin had added The Harper Team to his blogroll and wanted to know about any other KW agent blogs. I am pointing him toward the KW Group at AR, but it got me to thinking - that I could probably beef up my blogroll of KW agents, so I am going to do that.

As you know, people linking to your blog is one of the great influences on the search engines. Another influence builder is people subscribing to your feed. If you are not yet subscribing to blogs, think about doing so.

You can easily do so if you use Firefox or IE7.

Also Google Reader, My Yahoo, or what I use - Netvibes.

Of course, I am building relationships and a referral network beyond KW, but if I don't have a contact in an area, I usually start with a Keller Williams office.

Linking to others, subscribing to others' blogs and commenting on blogs are some of the best practices for marketing yourself online and building a referral network.

If you have a stand alone blog, I strongly suggest you get Hittail incorporated into it. I posted this on my our site the other day and noticed on Hittail today, that traffic is coming in on people searching on Elizabeth Weintraub. This and the other post I did about Elizabeth are, I think, great examples of marketing yourself (her).

When you write good content, others may find it and create posts from them like I did with Elizabeth's. Is there any better way of marketing yourself and creating referrals than having someone else quote you?

My appologies to any KW agent in Poinciana, Fl. The big BB has earned all my referrals. In fact, I feel so indebted to his free education series that I am thinking of taking out local ads in my area to find at least one referral to send him by way of thanks.

This is something I'll be focusing on at Family Reunion. I think we could build a tremendous KW Blog Network, and I wouldn't be surprised to see blogging added to KWU later this year. The class that you teach with Pat Kitano could be a great model.

Sorry I'm missing Family Reunion this year but I'm certainly looking forward to it next year.  I think a KW blog is a super idea - I would certainly  be there!  So much to learn!
