To Blog or not to Blog, That is the Question

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX ADVANTAGE REALTORS

Hi my name is Lena Rath and I am a newbie to blogging.  I am a real estate agent  and I consider myself a fairly technical person.  I mean computer stuff comes easy to me, I text my friends and family, I am not scared of my DVR (like my mother, which is a whole other topic).  I recently went to a class taught by Dick Betts in my home town of Searcy, Arkansas.  Dick introduced me to blogging.   He explained to keep up with our customers and clients we must be texting our clients as well as blogging.  I walked out of that class ready to blog, that was 3 weeks ago.  There were many times I sat down to begin and didn't know where to start. What would I say?  I started by reading other agents and friends blogs.  People who I thought could not even turn on a computer had a blog.  Not just A BLOG but a GOOD BLOG.  It really inspired me.   Tonight before American Idol and Big Brother begins, I have answered the question of "To blog or not to blog" and it begins tonight.

Congrats on the first one!  You can get some great ideas from others' blogs, and see how differently they can be done.  The best advice I can give is to just post what you're feeling, watching, experiencing, or wondering about.  There are so many folks on here, one of them is bound to know the answer to your question, or know where you're coming from.  Have fun, let your personality come through.  Best of luck!

Yes congratulations on your blogging decision and it will help put a spin on your real estate impression and get your word and work out to the public as well as other real estate agents and so blogging does not hurt you but be careful what you say as you will be sure to get critiqued.  Overall this is a great site for you to do some learning from so congrats on your decision!

Lena - WELCOME!  You are going to absolutely love it here!  There is quite a bit of information being shared and a lot of things to learn.  As for blogging, I find that blogging for Localism works best for me.  Letting the readers know about the area, what it has to offer, things to do, etc.  Good luck to you - I look forward to many more of your posts!  Blog on...
