Seven Bridges Estates is a sub-division that was built upon an 18 hole golf course. The golf course portion, now called Seven Bridges Golf Course, has been reconfigured with lots of water traps and is open to the public. The costs to use the course are expensive and you must use a golf cart. There's a nice restaurant in the clubhouse with views of the golf course.
In 1988, the project manager, who was a tenant of mine, asked me to write up a contract for 13 acres of then vacant farm land that was adjacent to the old golf course. Those 13 acres became the entrance to the first section of Seven Bridges. The land sold for $600,000 in 1988. Today, most of the homes are worth that figure!
The second section of Seven Bridges Estates has homes that border the golf course and a few that border the forest preserve. These homes tend to sell for more money. The homes were built between 1989 and 1995. Generally, they are four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, with an attached 2 or 3 car garage and a full basement. Many owners have updated their kitchens and remodeled their homes.
The location of the 304 homes is ideal...several minutes west of the I-355 entrance/exit ramps at 63rd street. And, a short ten minute drive to the Lisle train station. And, also a short ride to the entrance ramp to I-88.
The subdivision, while incorporated to Woodridge, sends their children to Naperville School District #203. And, yellow school buses take the children to elementary, middle school and high school. Sorry, can't walk to school from here.
The subdivision has a paved walking trail that wends behind many of the homes and heads south along a branch of the DuPage River. The path is part of a county-wide project to connect over 40 miles of walking and biking paths. South of the subdivision is a large forest preserve area called Greene Forest Preserve. There are picnic areas for family outings and a leash-free dog range. Herds of deer can be seen in this large native prairie area.
