REALTOR SAFETY TIPS

By
Real Estate Agent with ERA TEAM IV HOMES

How safe are you?? The following tips are from The National association Of Realtors.

ON THE JOB

1. Always keep a mobile phone at your side; program emergency #'s into speed dial.

2. Meet all new clients at your office, verify their identity.

3. Whenever possible, avoid being at the office alone.

4. Take a personal safety course.

AT HOME

1. Install deadbolts with full one-inch on all entry doors to your home;install a deadbolt lock inside the door to your home office.

2. Even with a regular telephone in your home office, keep a fully charged mobile phone with you at all times.

ON THE ROAD

1. Make sure you know your route to & from each property you visit.

2. When you're alone getting into your car, the first thing you should do is lock the doors.

Be sure to let your office have a copy of your tour. Call in frequently. Personally, I never go with customers into the basements.  Also, make sure the people you are with do not follow you, let them lead the way.

If you have some doubts about the people you are meeting, be sure to have someone in the office be there with you.  When in doubt:don't!!! It is not worth your safety.

As a mortgage professional i go to take application and pick up stips from clients homes all the time. I am very careful of my surroundings when i do so. This is great information to keep us all safe.
