Yes, I've taken down the BubbleGuru.com video bubble once again.

And it will stay down here on ActiveRain until I have something REALLY important that I want everyone to know about, regardless of which post they come to on my ActiveRain blog. Until that time comes, it's just plain annoying for it to pop up on every single post, even if you've already been to other posts I've written.

As I said in "Let's Test BubbleGuru.com One More Time," that's not the way it's supposed to work. The BubbleGuru.com embed code is built to be placed right before the closing body tag in your site. This is handled in a wordpress blog be editing the footer.php file and placing the embed code there. When you do it that way, it will only play once for each user "session."

So, for those who missed it, here's what it looked like:

I love it!!!!    I really would love to sit next to you one day at your computer to see where that brain of yours goes and finds all this "stuff".

Now Al's not thrilled to see a bubble popping up with my face following him around on a screen..   But i just listed a final phase new construction that I think this is great for... ya know to count down the lots left when people log on

Jeff, interesting technology, but only to be used sparingly.  Thanks AJ.

Dez... Al really needs to lighten up. :) and as Alan says above, this is going to be good for a very few things, but for those things, it will do the trick. It's all about know what tool to use when.

Really makes things stand out.  Almost overbearing in anything but moderation. I agree!  You do know what tools to use when, Jeff.

Annoying???...Heaven forbid!...We just can't get enough of you, Jeffrey! Hey, if somethings gonna pop-up on my screen, it might as well be you! Well, maybe Sarah Cooper or Chris Griffith might be better :)

Moderation in the use of nifty technology is a good thing.

Maybe it's not so bad that I'm too tech impaired to get this bubble thingie on my blog!

What was wrong with it before? It worked fine for me when I checked it the other day... But I was only testing. I haven't actually embedded it yet. I just bookmarked it.

:) Lisa, there was nothing wrong with it... except that it was a bit annoying. Since we can't get to certain parts of our AR blogs, we have to put the code in the settings, which gets treated differently. So, people are forced to hear the same message over and over if they go to more than one post on my blog in the same session. Annoying. :)

So, I think this will work great if you are trying to get someone's attention for something important. I will use it again here, but only when I've got something I really want noticed.

Jeff I really love your posts but I don't really care for the bubble. Glad it's gone

I think that the tool will be useful on an occasional basis. If I went to any site that it was used over and over again on I would not want to go back. Yet, for an occasional pop up it will be a good attention grabber.
