Active rain is now 76000 member strong, but  no one here seemed to mention it!  This is such a unique real estate social networking site.  I was surprised that it received no special notice or Blogs that mentioned the passing milestone.  Anyway, way to go!  Surpassing 75000 in membership this week and it is quite an accomplishment.   We keep breaking the bench mark here and marching onward to 100K in membership!  I had a few anxious moments today, and seemed to experience several outages to ActiveRain.  I check back frequently to make sure it is up and running!  It is!  TY!  I would not know how I would fill my day!  LOL!

I think mostly people keep it to themselves as they don't want the competition on the blogs

It was a bit of with draw there for a bit today. I got up from my desk and went to a 2nd computer just to make sure that no Active Rain was not personal. AHHHH we are all back were we need to be.

I don't think 76,000 is a known milestone.  I think once you get passed 10k, 25k, and 50k, the next milestone is 100k.

I just wonder how much longer they will keep it free for us.  I think I would have charged by now.

76,000 is a milestone because 75k passed before anyone could blog on it!  I'm glad I'm not the only one who experienced the outages.  I, too, took it personally!

Jim, I noticed those outages today also.  Although we had a storm and were out of electricity for quite a while ourself.  My husband fired up our generator; which he wired to the house after our last hurricane scare, and we were the only home in the neighborhood with juice for a while.  That happened to be the same time that Active Rain was down but since everything else was up I thought it must be their problem.

I've been watching this as well.  Needless to say, I think the momentum is increasing and we'll be at 100,000+ in no time.

Woo Hoo! We all knew it was a great place already, or we wouldn't all be congregating here. I've learned and shared more on this site that I would ever do in person.

Jim,

Thanks for mentioning the outings. Sometimes the Wi-Fi at the coffee shop is a little unstable It bothered. So I came home and it was still out on the Desk top. Later in the day I came back it was up and I had to run out. When I came back it was down again.

So I did not get to post replys to my comments til late today. Sorry did not meen to offend any who were gratious enough to comment.

So It is kind of an odd mile stone but a mile stone just the same. Hip Hip Hooray ! I believe we were about 12,000 when I joined a little over a year ago. Quite a jump in that amount of time.

I had only a few times today that I could log on and AR was down--I was thinking that maybe, indeed, I DO have an addiction!  I guess it was just those 76K members tying up the 'lines'!!!

Yeah, I haven't been apart of it long but it is addicting.  I'm trying to get my points to creep up there.  Why?  Does it matter?  I'm a bit competitive!

Jim, I'm with Donna.  I didn't realize that 76K required some special milestone treatment.  Maybe the Spirit of '76?  Anyways, the next big milestone is 100K... It won't be too long.

My question is of the 76K plus, how many have "not" posted in the last 30 days.... That would be interesting to know.

It's awesome that this network is growing as fast as it is...I just wish everyone would participate.  Some see the value in it...some dont.

I saw a comment some where to be careful when you start blogging because it becomes adictive and you will spend way to much time doing it. yip it's true. I think I might need to find a web community to help me with my new adiction.

Hey all sorry I could not answer all individually!  I was at all day CE classes today!  When I looked that the numbers, they were under 75K  and then were at 76K overnight!  Maybe they are stuffing  the AR ballot box!   I personally thought 75K members was quite an achievement for an IT company!  I worked with a lot of these companies over the years, and AR seems to really hit it big!  They need a congrats!

We're now over 77K - but I find it interesting that I've never seen over 280 or so members online at any give time. Over 1800 people are online right now; of that 262 are logged in. How many of the 77K are actually active and come back? How many come back to the site time and time again but never become a member. I wonder why so many stay a mystery and don't log in.

Debbie DiFonzo - Rural Missouri Real Estate  I do not own it or participate in I so I do not know.  It may be a sales ploy.   To sell active rain there would be value in readership, web traffic, click traffic and ad revenue.  So the higher the membership the better even if most do not participate.  The higher the activity level is good also ( I notice sometimes I am not logged out when I think I have...!)
