Rogue Valley Manor’s Contribution to Southern Oregon

From most places in the Rogue Valley in Oregon, you will see a very recognizable property on Barneburg Hill on the East side of the Interstate 5 Freeway. These two tall buildings are part of the Rogue Valley Manor property, a property that has grown to 668 acres which include two golf courses. Rogue Valley Manor is Southern Oregon's only accredited continuing care retirement community.

The parent company of Rogue Valley Manor is Pacific Retirement Services, Inc., who also has 23 other community housing facilities to help meet seniors' ever growing affordable housing needs, is expanding and building additional facilities to help meet an ever growing demand. Seniors choosing to become residents at Rogue Valley Manor will choose between 4 levels of continuing care services and many different residence options. Manor residents pay an entrance fee between $50,000-$280,000 plus a monthly fee for the services they have. When a Rogue Valley Manor resident outlives their financial resources, they will continue to live at the Manor, and are not given the boot when their monies run out, with their expenses covered through the Manor's Foundation.

Two notable programs are offered through Rogue Valley Manor Community Services, a non-profit organization that sponsors two community outreach programs. The RSVP - Retired and Senior Volunteer Program - 1,092 senior volunteers who provide volunteer services to 98 Jackson County community programs. The Foster Grandparent Program of Southern Oregon has 125 senior volunteers providing one-on-one assistance to special needs and at-risk children throughout Southern Oregon.

Manor residents are strong supporters of several Rogue Valley non-profit organizations, one of which I know personally is the Rogue Valley Youth Choruses, whose participants come to the Manor twice a year to perform. Another Rogue Valley non-profit organization where I've worked side-by-side with RSVP volunteers is Habitat for Humanity/Rogue Valley.

Together, we CAN make a difference!

See you out there!

Krista - I can see why it maintains a waiting list, it's a great senior community, with so many amenities. With the Rogue Valley being one of the top senior destinations, in addition to a great place to raise a family, I'll bet that waiting list stays pretty long.
