De-clutter/Clean/Remove are the three most common recommendations. It is surprising how much stuff we can accumulate over time. Personal pictures and religious items should be out of site. You don't have to pack these items away you can maybe put your grandchildren's picture inside your medicine cabinet or car. This is also for privacy. In this day and age you don't want every "Tom, Dick, & Harry" to see your family. After that is done then clean, clean, clean! Make your home sparkle. Windows, drapes and light fixtures, closets, inside and outside, should all be fresh and clean. And lastly, remove any furniture that is not the right scale for your home. Super-stuffed sofas are very comfy to live with, but they can make your house feel small and cramped. Again you have a team use them.
