Assistant

Does anyone have ideas for hiring a personal assistant?  My firm offers many assistants but they are not always avaliable for my needs.  Is there a pay range?  Do you think they should have a RE license?  Thanks

I have a full time licensed assistant.  I want an assistant with a license.  She can meet clients for me if needed at a property.  I pay her a salary, plus if we have a busy quarter I pay her a quarterly bonus.  If she has someone from her SOI, then she gets a referral fee also.  I use Paychex to do all the taxes and that sort of stuff.

I have pretty strong opinions about personality and who to hire and not hire.

I had a part time assistant before.  I paid her hourly and then per transaction.  Both scenarios worked out well for both assistants.

You should get one, they more than pay for themselves!

Pick up a copy of Gary Keller's "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent."  On Page 161 he talks about "Hiring Talent" and goes through what to look for, models of pay, etc.  On page 198 he talks about the "Hiring Path" for an agent.

Not only will it help with this issue, but it'll give great insight into other aspects of your business as well.
