pictur courtesy of FotosearchI have been having writer block for the last couple of days. I have just read Dave Woodson's  blog "How do you work from Home" and it inspired this.

I work from home and love it. The trick is to have a separate work area with all the gadgets you need for work.

No home phone in there. As a matter of fact I have no home phone that is now my fax line. Telemarketers just love it when they get that high pitch whine in their ears.

When the kids get home its break time, we hang out chat a little and then get back to work. Sometimes I work in my jammies but Ifind I am more productive when I dress for work.

I use my loft as an office. It is big enough to fit five small desks one for each family member. I choose to share when the kids get home. It makes networking five computers easier. I can also passively monitor what the teenager do on-line. they will also monitor what each other does without intentionally doing so.

Do you work from home?

Are you Thinking of working from home?

Do you have any question on working from Home?

I would love to hear from you.

Anthony... Great Idea about giving the kids work space so they can be supervised under the guise of togetherness. I wish I had thought of It when my kids were home.

Thanks and good luck

I work from home and love it.  I too have a space that I use to do all of my work.  I have a laptop that I use so when I get tired or worn out in one area.  I can go to another and feel inspired again.

I am working from home for a couple months and I would have to say it is a Love ~ Hate Relationship.  I liked going to an office and seeing people.  Although I work the same now, it doesn't feel the same.  Some days I love it, others I hate it .

Corie~~ It works pretty good for me

Bronson~~ way to go. I try not to use my laptop much at home as I tend to drag it in front of the Tv and get stuck there.

Kathy~ it has its pros and cons. You tend to miss the social aspect of the office, but it is a great time saver.

I technically work in the field, as I do home  inspections, but I do have a home office for paperwork and the such.  I have a desk, book shelves and printer/fax machine.  I still have a bed in there but want to make it solely an office soon.  I love it as I can spend time with the kids when I want (as long as I'm not in the field).  Good post.

Joseph,

making time for the kids is very important. It is different  for all of us, but we just need to do what work for us. It is not about choosing between family and work. I believe in having the best of both.
