How to Sell Yourself !!

Hello everyone.

Selling yourself is a tough task. Many attempt to do this through marketing campaigns including print materials, online marketing and all the other strategies out there. All these are important and valid ways to get out to your potential clients, however what I really mean by selling yourself is not about your marketing strategy it's about the right way to SELL YOURSELF !!

A lot of people (and I am guilty of this) make a big effort on selling their services and showing why they are the best. That's the first mistake, why? We shouldn't be the focus, but rather our clients, right? Our client's needs need to come first. I am not condemning the idea of positioning yourself as the #1 realtor in your local area, but I just believe that by giving value and knowledge to our clients with a positive attitude the business will come.

In other words, providing information without expecting anything, showing the knowledge and sharing it without saying how great your services are, will communicate just really how great you actually are.

Remember, it is not about how great we are, it's about what we know and how we react to our client's needs. Based on my experience if we apply this philosophy our results will increase in no time!!

This is the way to successfully sell yourself IMHO.

Best regards.

James, I have always been of the mindset to give to get. Look at the person first and develop the relationship and then the business will come soon enough.

Wonderful entry James. Clients want to be heard instead of going over your experience and your long list of achievements over and over again. The sentence "We shouldn't be the focus, but rather our clients" sumarizes pretty well the entire message, you are totally right, marketing is all about the client, if you want to succeed you need to focus 100% on them, so ask questions, get people talking and listen carefully.

Keep up the good blogging!!
