Something that may warm your hearts this Saturday Morning....

Through her 96+ years on this earth, she has seen every change in this world.  Depression, Wars, Poverty...the list is endless...but through it all, she was able to pave the way for her 5 Children, 14 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.  She was the tread that held our family together.  Until the end she was as strong as I've ever known her to be.  Never looking at what she didn't have, instead was grateful of the little things she did have.

The reason I feel a NEED  TO BRIEFLY SHARE THIS BLOG WITH MY FELLOW AGENTS, is because I learned more from this woman then from anyone and anything in my entire life. And in her Memory, I want to pass along the lesson she has taught me...

Never did she show fear, sadness or weakness, she didn't procrastinate and always lived every day as if it was a GIFT...No obstacle got in her way, and no Dream was too far to reach.  A gentle soul and the most unselfish person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Today she is not with me physically, but her love for life, her forgiving nature, and her LIGHT will forever remain with me.  Though I could never be close to the Woman she was.....I hope to live my life "trying" to make a difference in the lives of the people around me...I know she would want nothing less of me.

So please just take a moment today, and do something special for someone....it WILL feel GREAT!

"I love and miss you Grandma"

What a wonderful tribute to your Grandmother. My grandfather passed away and it devasted me. I am approaching the anniversary of his death and it's really hard. Your grandmother sounds like a wonderful woman.

Thank you and I'm sorry for the ache in your heart, I know the void.

Catherine, my heart goes out to you.  Grandmothers are awesome... I miss both of mine everyday.  I lost one far too young and the other was close to 100.  Everyday, I do some little quirky thing and I think of my grandma Kelley... so funny, what treasure they are to teach us their lives....

Cathy,

Sorry to hear of your Grandmothers passing.  There is always inspiration in the memories that have been shared and I'm sure she is still watching over you and your family.  I can't even imagine all the things our Grandparents have been through and wish I had mine still around in these later years to have been able to talk with them about those times.  You were blessed to have her here for the length of time you did.

Sorry about your loss but  I definitely know what you're feeling and will  continue to feel. There's something about a grandma from the "other" generation that can't be matched-unselfish, positive, always welcoming, and would never complain about anything. When 8 relatives would show up unexpectedly for Christmas Eve dinnern she would just make more and keep smiling and mean it! I never forgot her and probably will never live up  to her ideals but what a great path to follow! We all have so much to learn from "them",thanks for reminding us.
