Snowed in on Blizzard Saturday in Ohio

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Capital Partners Realty 277320
Well, the storm did NOT miss us this time!. Columbus is known for having the storm go around us, but not today.
Friday morning around 11:00 it started. The roads got slick and visibility was poor. Our market center closed at 2:00 pm, schools had early release and the grocery stores and video stores were busy!
I cancelled my 6:00pm Friday and 9:00 and 10:30 am appointments for Saturday. Most major businesses closed and so did the Universities. It's odd to get a huge storm like this in March, however our record for the most snow in one day was in April 1987!
I have to call a few of my sellers and co-op agents. We have an offer floating that was open until noon Saturday and I'll have to "verbally " extend it to Monday.
What is the weather like where you are at today?

It is snowing here in Atlanta, GA...   The ground is too warm for it to be meaningful, though.  And it really isn't snowing with intent, just enough to look nice falling.

That weather system was here in North Texas 2 days ago and it was gorgoeus!  We don't experience snow and ice often so it is always exciting when it happens.  All we need around here is one drop of precipitation at 33 degrees and people go bonkers!  I was fortunate to have decalred Admin Day here at the home office and avoided the 3 hour commute to travel 10 miles.  :)

High of 60 and a low of 40 in Spring Texas. I grew up in the Midwest and remember all too well those long winters. It is my goal to not to have to own another shovel.

I so wanted to post and say we were having temps in the mid 70's with sunshine all around. But today we only got up to the low 60's and the wind has been whipping about. Ruined my planned day of taking area photographs... I always have tomorrow

Well the storm is almost over. 14 inches and the street are not passable. Most churches have canceled for Sunday! no open houses either!  We are at Level 2 , which means you can drive for emergency only. Some areas nearby are level 3, which means emergency vehicles only. You can get arrested drive in Level 3!
Oh I want the warm sunny 70 degrees we had last Monday!

Joe, I guess it stayed south of us, sorry, you guys got it. We've had enough of it already, not to mention the cold, cold temps here in northern Michigan. We always watch the weather in the Detroit area as that is where my family is originally from....saw the mess on the map hitting you. Spring is coming, right?

Joe, we didn't get the snow here in Michigan, but we have enough along with the cold, cold weather.  My brother-in-law lives in Strongsville, OH and I think he said they got about 15-17".  Hopefully spring will be here soon for all of us.

Up here in Painesville, OH, located in Lake County we received 18-22 inches over the weekend.  All we could do was wait for the plow, which finally came around 2:30 pm on Sunday.  That sure was a heck of a storm.  Nothing compares, though, to the "Storm of 1978" with 70-80 mph winds.  That one was horrendous.
