Open Bar a REALTOR Preview For New Tower Downtown: Vancouver, BC

They say that the better the market the less developed spend on wooing the REALTORS. Last week I attended the REALTOR preview for Cressey Develeopments new "Yaletown" tower names Donovan. Now this one has beena  long time coming. I pre-registered for this on 13 MONTHS AGO! Apparently there were some delays to do with a couple of heritage homes on the site.

Well they tried some new tactic to build up the excitement including mailing out "key cards" that would be "required" for access to the preview. Mine didn't make it in the mail but  they let me in with a business card and gave me a card. I have since received two in the mail..... The other interesting tactic was that they would allow each REALTOR to reserve one unit for a "preferred client". I had a problem. I had TWO clients who had expressed an interest in this development and so I tried to get to units reserved. One buyer was looking for the sub-penthouses and the other for the more plentiful one bedroom/ one bedroom and den units. As soon as I got there, right at the 2pm start I managed to reserve the last of the sub-penthouses, but they told me that was it.

So I hung around and enjoyed the open bar and hors d'oeuvres. They had lychee martinis with very little alcohol in them as well as wine and I can't remember what else (and its not because of the 4 martinis I had). The show suite looked very nice and the finishes were all very high end. A full suite on Mielle appliances in the kitchen and unique square sinks, taps and faucets in the kitchen and baths. The only thing that wasn't square was the toilet. I guess they couldn't source a square toilet. It is probably best....

After a while I left as a was still being turned down for a 2nd unit. After moving the car I thought I would go back as I had some time before my next appointment and just after closing at 4 I was able to reserve a second unit.

Now they are calling me saying that Cressey is not happy that some REALTORs managed to reserve 2 or even 3 units. I don't think that it is really my problem unless they try to cancel the reservations, but we'll wait and see. I'll update this if I get that call.
