The winds of change are upon us here on Hilton Head!
Today's gale force winds are blowing whitecaps on the inland waters of Skull Creek, Calibogue Sound and Port Royal Sound. Not a great day for those taking the Daufuskie Ferry.
On a personal note, today is the next day of the rest of my life (as the saying goes!). Permit me to explain, last night was the final game of the year for the Armstrong Atlantic State University Pirates and our eldest, Jimmy a 5th year Senior. An 88-86 loss in the Peach Belt Conference playoffs has ended his career and an 11 year journey that began in middle school basketball.
Hoops-Daddy must move on to new diversions. It is a somewhat bittersweet time of reflection for the Mrs. and I but it's time for the change. The good news is James will graduate in less than 2 months and has enjoyed a career without injury. We praise God for that!
What does this have to do with real estate, well nothing actually but this is my blog and my intention is to provide some personal insights, Island activity updates and of course and most importantly real estate information.
On the real estate side of things there continues to be increasingly strong showing activity of listings in all price ranges and locations, and contracts continue to be written. With Easter just 2 weeks away and the Heritage Golf tournament a month away, we expect showings to continue to remain strong as vacationers continue to arrive on the Island for some well needed rest and relaxation.
The villa and lot market are quiet with limited sales activity. We suspect that will change slowly over the next few months as the Spring Market turns to Summer and the traditional buyer changes from the resiential and investment home buyer to oceanfront and ocean oriented investment villa buyer.
