Austin Single-Family Home Market Still Strong

According to the Austin Board of Realtors December MLS report, single-family home sales are strong.

December 2006 showed a 3% increase over December 2005, with the median price of a single-family home over the same period rising 4% to $177,500.

The year-end statistics showed a 10% increase over 2005, with a year-end median price of $174,500, a 6% rise.

With the lowest average days on market in four years, and the lowest number of active listings since 2001, added to an average 3.32 months of inventory, it sure looks to me like, as a region, we're still in a seller's market.  Individual areas will vary, of course.
