First, I practice what I preach and have my own business plan. Currently our business plan is only for Metro NY and Long Island. NY and Long Island Customers can view (but will not receive a copy of) our business plan before buying our Business Planning Service. There is nothing more important in the Business Planning Industry for Business Planners to practice what they teach!
Let's talk reality...the majority of business owners don't have a formal business plan. Our current education system fails business owners who went to high school and college. For Example, doctors run a business but aren't told how to create a business plan even though they will expand, will buy buildings, will make good money and will also have large student loans to pay off.
The reality is: Making a Business Plan is time consuming and can be stressful if you are caught in the daily grind. If you are having problems in your business what comfort comes from preparing a business plan? You will ask yourself this and think "I could be out making money". Well the first rule on making oyur own business plan is to do it when your office is closed. I f you are a t.v. patron on the weekend do what I did..keep the t.v. on, but work in front of the t.v. Nevermind distraction, you will start to get a good feeling once you start filling in the binder with the parts of your business plan!

There are three types of business plans.
1)For funding from the Small Business Administration
2)For funding from Venture Capital/Angel Investors
3)For Funding from Conventional Finance Banks.
Most small businesses are quoted large fees to prepare a business plan because they are very time involved. More to come on this VERY important part of your business during March and April.
