                                                              POSTS OF THE WEEK:

GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES

Do ALL Listing Agents Tell the TRUTH? - Do you ever fax an offer on a home and wonder if the homeowner truly received your offer?  If they did receive it, was the offer presented properly by the listing agent?  Read Kathleen Elim's take on the offer-making process.

Communication or Lack Of : You decide......... - Do you have any listings that are staying on the market for a longer time than you'd hoped for?  Are you keeping those homeowners in the loop as to what is going on with the sale of their home and the market conditions?  Are the homeowners pressuring you to sell the home already?  Read about how Melissa Grant's approach actually had the homeowner appreciating her efforts.

BLOGGING FOR BUSINESS

Writers Block No More! Spread Your Seeds and Get Results with Localism - Are you on Active Rain to generate business?  Friends?  Both?  Julie Neerings has certainly made her fair share of friends on Active Rain, but her biggest success story is quite likely the business that she is generating because of the way that she blogs.  Check out this post for some interesting tips.

One Thing "LEADS" to Another! - Are consumers reading your blog?  Yes, they are, even if they don't let you know it by commenting.  Suzanne Sands shares a story about a consumer that read her blog and enjoyed her writing.  The consumer got to know Suzanne through her blog, and when they met out in public, it lead to business.

Are you looking for subscribers or clients? - It's easy to get caught up the numbers game on Active Rain, but do points and subscribers translate into business?  Not necessarily.  Read Todd Clark's take on what is important when blogging.

FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT

Do you Post & Ghost? - Paul Slaybaugh is our resident human behavior analyst.  If you haven't read his posts, you're missing out on some fine entertainment.  Check out Paul's take on the different categories of bloggers, and see how you measure up.

The Art of Hijacking a Blog - When Paul Slaybaugh is not busy sharing his studies of human (blogging) behavior, he can often be found "hijacking" other peoples' posts, and sometimes even hijacks his own posts.  If you're newer to Active Rain, and unsure about what hijacking means, you must check out Amanda Hall's tutorial on the subject.  Just for the record, this post has already been hijacked.

What's my name again? - Sometimes the funniest stories are the ones that happened in real life.  Do you want to know who wrote this post?  Click on the link to find out.  I'll give you a hint...his name is not Jeff, Jesse, Jesus, James or.....you get the idea!

SUNDAY COMICS

The Adventures of Staging Girl: Part 4 - Each of us is unique in our own way, but many blogs have a similar look and feel to them.  If you want to see something truly unique, you MUST check out Audrey Hoffman's "The Adventures of Staging Girl."  This is unlike anything else that I've ever seen on Active Rain.  Maybe it's just her comic prowess, but I can honestly say that Audrey's MEEZ widget is the only one on Active Rain that (to me) looks like the actual person.  Makes me wonder if Audrey exists in the real world.  Tune in, and find out!

I had a busy week and missed some of these.  I guess when I got off work, I headed straight for the Entertainment Section.

This was a fun week for entertainment!  Looks like that guy with the mask could use a good hijack...............::looking for my bat signal::

03/09/2008 02:32 PM by Elaine Hanson, REALTOR® ~ Topanga, CA Real Estate Specialist (Pritchett-Rapf & Assoc. Realtors, Topanga)

Elaine - You may be right about that dude in the mask.  He looks intimidating, but I think he's just a big softie.

Adam - Great job on SBS this week.  Thanks for bringing Audrey to my attention.  That post looks really interesting.

03/09/2008 02:42 PM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Adam:  I only missed a couple this week!  WooHoo!  Great job on pulling all of these wonderful posts together!

I am officially hijacking this post. Do as I say and no one gets hurt. And I say ... bark like a dog!

03/09/2008 04:11 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

PAUL - I think that I gave you too much credit for your hijacking skills.  You can't even get a poker game going on this post.

03/09/2008 05:13 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Enjoyed this, as always!  Great picks for highlighting, Adam!

03/09/2008 06:34 PM by Margaret Woda, Maryland REALTOR (RE/MAX VISION)

Adam~Thank you so much my dear friend for mentioning my blog. Big hugs to you and have a fabulous week.

Adam, you silly little man, I am merely following your lead.  This will be a multi-part hijacking.  Stay tuned for parts 2-19.

03/09/2008 08:17 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Adam...What a surprise.  Thanks for mentioning my post.  I came by to read your latest post (and to find some other good posts to read) and had a surprise.

I'm looking forward to reading Audrey Hoffman's and a couple of others that I missed.

Thanks again,

Kathleen

Hi Adam,

Thanks for putting this together and including my post, so many great ones this week! :)

03/09/2008 09:58 PM by Suzanne Sands-Somerset, MA Real Estate (Century 21 Associates Realty)

Adam--Maybe I'm just a fembot.  Thanks for the kudos :)

Paul--You may have hijacked this post, but I have the official AR rights to the term, "Stay Tuned."  I recommend your using something like, "Keep Reading," "Check Back Early and Often," "Come Back for More," et cetera.  Any attempt you make to use said phrase will result in you being permanently tuned out. CAPICHE?

03/09/2008 10:06 PM by Audrey Hoffman, SimplyStage (SimplyStage)

Audrey, Audrey, Audrey. Apparently you haven't heard about me. ... STAY TUNED!

03/09/2008 11:16 PM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

Great Blog idea Adam!  I enjoyed reading your suggested posts and decided to subscribe to your blog.  Keep up the good work.

03/09/2008 11:44 PM by Cheryl Powell, ABR, Broker, Realtor - Remax Gold - Concord NC Real Estate (RE/MAX Gold - The Powell Team)

Paul, I've recently come across some commenting that bears watching.  It is from one Audrey Hoffman aka Staging Girl.  Be on the lookout for a fresh new source of humor -- you know, a bit off center, a bit tweaked, but very quick.

Oh look, she's already making trouble for you.  Clever Girl!

AMANDA - dang business call on a Sunday night!!!  We need to work on this bat signal system.

Hi Adam :)

She does have the makings of an up and comer, Elaine. We will have to stay tuned.

Adam ....... A Funny thing happened last night while walking in the woods.....I came upon a very strange scene ....... I don't remember much....maybe this pic will help....I just know when I woke up this morning I was covered in Paas Egg Dyes and had little stickers all over me

03/10/2008 08:24 AM by Mike Norvell Sr., Developers Capital Realty (Developers Capital Realty, LLC)

Mike, did you have a big red "SIGN HERE ->" stamp on your forehead, too?  If so, I just want you to know that I was not involved.

03/10/2008 08:45 AM by AMANDA HALL*Broker*HALL TEAM HOMES* FORT WORTH REAL ESTATE (Serving all of DFW and surrounding areas within N Texas)

Thanks for the news edition, always look forward to it.  I loved the inspired by song contest.  I would have entered, but would rather forget my first concert.  No bragging rights to New Kids on the Block, thank you (or exhibition of taste for that matter:-))  Katerina writes about Jimi Hendrix, I write about New Kids...uhhh...no thank you.

03/10/2008 10:16 PM by Rebecca Levinson-R.E. Blogger/Connect2Agent (Connect2Agent)

This is such a good idea.  I definitely will be a part of this.  Adam, thank you again for all the input, and thank you for keeping track of all this good information.
