POSTS OF THE WEEK:
GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES
Do ALL Listing Agents Tell the TRUTH? - Do you ever fax an offer on a home and wonder if the homeowner truly received your offer? If they did receive it, was the offer presented properly by the listing agent? Read Kathleen Elim's take on the offer-making process.
Communication or Lack Of : You decide......... - Do you have any listings that are staying on the market for a longer time than you'd hoped for? Are you keeping those homeowners in the loop as to what is going on with the sale of their home and the market conditions? Are the homeowners pressuring you to sell the home already? Read about how Melissa Grant's approach actually had the homeowner appreciating her efforts.
BLOGGING FOR BUSINESS
Writers Block No More! Spread Your Seeds and Get Results with Localism - Are you on Active Rain to generate business? Friends? Both? Julie Neerings has certainly made her fair share of friends on Active Rain, but her biggest success story is quite likely the business that she is generating because of the way that she blogs. Check out this post for some interesting tips.
One Thing "LEADS" to Another! - Are consumers reading your blog? Yes, they are, even if they don't let you know it by commenting. Suzanne Sands shares a story about a consumer that read her blog and enjoyed her writing. The consumer got to know Suzanne through her blog, and when they met out in public, it lead to business.
Are you looking for subscribers or clients? - It's easy to get caught up the numbers game on Active Rain, but do points and subscribers translate into business? Not necessarily. Read Todd Clark's take on what is important when blogging.
FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT
Do you Post & Ghost? - Paul Slaybaugh is our resident human behavior analyst. If you haven't read his posts, you're missing out on some fine entertainment. Check out Paul's take on the different categories of bloggers, and see how you measure up.
The Art of Hijacking a Blog - When Paul Slaybaugh is not busy sharing his studies of human (blogging) behavior, he can often be found "hijacking" other peoples' posts, and sometimes even hijacks his own posts. If you're newer to Active Rain, and unsure about what hijacking means, you must check out Amanda Hall's tutorial on the subject. Just for the record, this post has already been hijacked.
What's my name again? - Sometimes the funniest stories are the ones that happened in real life. Do you want to know who wrote this post? Click on the link to find out. I'll give you a hint...his name is not Jeff, Jesse, Jesus, James or.....you get the idea!
SUNDAY COMICS
The Adventures of Staging Girl: Part 4 - Each of us is unique in our own way, but many blogs have a similar look and feel to them. If you want to see something truly unique, you MUST check out Audrey Hoffman's "The Adventures of Staging Girl." This is unlike anything else that I've ever seen on Active Rain. Maybe it's just her comic prowess, but I can honestly say that Audrey's MEEZ widget is the only one on Active Rain that (to me) looks like the actual person. Makes me wonder if Audrey exists in the real world. Tune in, and find out!
