Silver Spring, MD Transit Center

What do Metrorail, Metrobus, MARC rail, and Ride On Bus have in common?  They will all be a part of the new Silver Spring Transit Center located within the boundaries of Colesville Road, Wayne Avenue, Ramsey Avenue, and the Silver Spring Metro Station.  With over $53 million in Federal funding already secured, the Silver Spring Metro station will under a massive improvement and become a major hub for public transportation.  With Phase I, the relocation of the MARC station, already completed the project is expected to cost $75 million and take approximately 3 years to complete.  Addtionally, WMATA and Montgomery County are also proposing to develop a hotel with ground floor retail and residential buildings.  For more information visit http://www.silverspringdowntown.com/news_item.php?item=24
