Continuing our series on technology tips for real estate, our next how to video shows you how simple it is to backup Microsoft Outlook!

This is a process we recommend you do on a regular basis. Think of all your personal and business information that is stored on in outlook! Not only should you backup outlook, but you should also backup your documents and other files that are stored on your computer! We recommend purchasing either an external portable hard drive (available at Best Buy, Staples & Office Depot) or by purchasing a USB thumb drive, this way you can carry your data from different locations, and open it on multiple machines.

Should you have any questions regarding backing up your Outlook & Documents or which equipment to purchase, feel free to contact the Real Estate Tech Desk! We work almost exclusively with real estate professionals throughout the US to provide you with the best technological and marketing solutions available to the real estate industry.

David - Thanks for the post.  I can always use a new knowledge especially technology.  I'm pretty back.  I don't back up my Outlook.  I better do that soon.

Rosalinda, yes performing backups is extremely important, in some areas you may be required by law to keep copys of transaction information--think of how much important data is stored in email?
